Classroom Critters

Have wild animals living in your classroom. Children will be enthralled with their every move. Learn about habitats, diet, and observe natural behaviours such as eating, egg laying, and moulting.

Teachers will be taught to handle each animal so they can be used in lessons. Children can also handle animals under teacher supervision.

Choose from the following themes:

1. Tree Tops
Learn about animals who call the canopy their home. You will meet Stick Insects, Spiney Leaf Insects and Katydids.

2. Grasslands
Learn about animals who call grasslands their home. You will meet Praying Mantis, Grasshoppers and Caterpillars.

3. Logs & Leaf litter.
Learn about the animals who call rotting logs & leaf litter their home. You will meet cockroaches, millipedes, beetle larvae and worms.

Pre K
This program allows children to experience the secret world of mini beasts. The Ranger will set up an enclosure with your chosen habitat. Children can then observe mini beasts going about their day. Hunting and feeding, cleaning, moulting, or egg laying.

Duration: 2 weeks
Costs: $150 (inc GST) 1 enclosure
           $120/ set up (inc GST) 3 or more enclosures

Schools (K-6)
This program allows children to experience the secret world of mini beasts. The Ranger will set up an enclosure with your chosen habitat, or alternatively older students can design the enclosure to meet the animals needs. Children can then observe mini beasts going about their day. Hunting and feeding, cleaning, moulting, or egg laying. Animals can be used in classroom lessons and students can handle animals with teacher supervision.

Vacation Care & OOSH
